APPERANCE OF MILK TEETH.

The first set of teeth or milk teeth, as they are called, are twenty years in number; They usually appear in pairs, and those of the lower jaw generally precede corresponding from the top. The first of the milk teeth usually is cut on the sixth or seventh month, and the last set at various periods of XX for thirty months. Therefore, the entire period occupied by first dentition can be estimated a year and a half to two years. The process varies, however, in different individuals, as throughout its duration, and as the order in which the teeth makes his appearance and periods. It is not necessary, however, to add more on this point.

Its development is a natural process. He is too frequently, however, rendered a painful and difficult, for any errors in the administration of the scheme and the health of the baby, formerly for the coming of the teeth and during the process itself.

Thus, mainly as a result of foolish, management is done the most critical period of childhood. Not that I believe the extent of mortality is fairly traceable, by any means so great has been declared; It is ranked as high as one-sixth of all children who pass by it. Still, nobody doubts that first dentition is often a period of great danger to the baby. Therefore a very important issue of a mother eager and affectionate, as the dangers and difficulties of the dentition can in any degree reduced or, if possible, completely prevented. Some tips on this subject, then, can be useful. I should consider, firstly, the management of the infant, when the dentition is accomplished without difficulty; and, secondly, the management of the baby when he is met with difficulty.

When baby is teething management without difficulty. ------------------------------------------------------------

The son of a healthy Constitution, which has been correctly, that is, of course, fed by his mother's milk alone, these symptoms will be milder type of dentition and management more simple and easy baby.

Symptoms:-are the symptoms of natural dentition (this can be called enough), an increased flow of saliva, with swelling and warmth of gums and occasionally flushing of the cheeks. The child often commonplace your fingers, or anything in their power, in your mouth. Its seat is increased, and takes the chest more often, however, since the State tender of gums, for shorter periods than usual. Is restless and fretful; and sudden fits of crying and occasional from sleep, with a slight tendency to vomiting and bowel laxity even, it is not uncommon. Many of these symptoms often precede the appearance of the tooth for several weeks and indicate that what is called "teeth" is happening. In such cases, the symptoms disappear within a few days, to occur again when the tooth approaches the surface of the gum.

Treatment: Infant management-in this case is very simple and rarely asks the doctor's interference attendant. The child should be very outdoors and well exercised: the bowels should be kept freely open with castor oil; and always be slightly relaxed at the moment. Cold sponge used daily and the surface of the body rubbed dry with how rough a flannel as delicate skin of the child will bear; friction being very useful. The chest should be given many times, but not for long time; the seat so it will be dissipated, the gums kept moist and relaxed, and his anger subsided, without the stomach is being overloaded. The mother also carefully should attend at this time, his own health and diet and avoid all drinks or food stimulants.

From the moment dentition begins, pressure on the gums will be found to be enjoyable for the child, by numbing the sensitivity and dulling the pain. This effect is usually coral employee or a part of the lily-root, or scraped liquorice root; a flat Ivory ring, however, is much safer and better, because there is no danger of its impetus to the eyes or nose. Gentle friction of gums, too, by finger nurse, is pleasant for the baby; and, as seems to have some effect in appeasing the irritation, can be frequently resorted to in France, is very practical to dive the liquorice root and other substances, honey or powdered sugar-sweet; and in Germany, a small bag, containing a mixture of sugar and spices, is given to the baby Suck, where is fretful and uncomfortable during teething. The constant use, however, of sweet ingredients and stimulants to do injury to the stomach and renders his job very questionable.
